Horticultural Vendors Guide

Horticultural Auctions

The yard is open from 8am to 5pm Monday to Friday and 8am - closing (Normally no later than 1pm) on Saturday.

1. Nursery Stock And Plant Auctions

Auction Days

9:30am every Wednesday and Saturday (Except Christmas).

Deliveries

Items for the nursery stock and plant auctions can be delivered on Monday / Tuesday and Thursday / Friday 8am - 5pm.

Wherever possible we will endeavor to water the lots in the yard (this is not guaranteed).

Commission

We charge commission plus VAT on all items sold. There is no lotting fee, charge for unsold items or minimum charges. Items can be entered with a reserve but this will be removed by the auctioneer (at their discretion) if the item is not sold after 2 weeks.

Payment is by cheque or cash and made every 2 weeks (Thursday to Wednesday)

Registration

Vendors must register with the auctioneer. Once registered vendors will be allocated a unique code which should be used at all times for identification. All entries must be listed on a delivery note with the vendors code and any reserve prices. The delivery note must be handed to a member of staff, placed in the black box in the shed or in the office.

On registration we will require the following details which will be held on our records (for use by Clifford Cross Auctions Ltd Only)

It is essential that the office is informed about any changes in contact and registration details.

2. Fruit and Vegetable Auctions

Auction Days

3pm every Monday, Wednesday and Thursday (Except Christmas and bank holidays - Refer to calendar). Some fruit and vegetables are sold as part of the Saturday nursery auction.

Deliveries

Items for the fruit and vegetable auctions can be delivered up to 2:30pm on the day the day of the auction (except Saturday)

Lotting

Fruit and vegetables must be netted or boxed. Each net / box must have the weight in kilograms, country of origin, grade and vendor code marked.

Commission
